The Founding Fields: Savage Scars by Andy Hoare - Advanced Review .

Savage-Scars The Founding Fields: Savage Scars by Andy Hoare - Advanced Review ...Bane of Kings reviews the new novel from Andy Hoare, Savage Scars.
"Andy Hoare does action right. No restraint, no forgiveness."
~The Founding Fields
Note: This is an advanced review for Black Library and this new is not usable for purchase until March 2011.

Bane of Kings here, This was the low White Scars Novel that I`ve read, and besides my first novel that I`ve read written by Andy Hoare, who has likewise written novels such as Run for Voldorius, and an old novel, which is now out of strain on Black Library`s website - Rogue Star.
The Plot of this new is pretty simple, with White Scars, along with Imperial Guard, Ultramarines, Scythes of the Emperor and Iron Hands, among other chapters including the Novamarines on a crusade force against the Tau Empire. However, there are a few minor twists and turns to it, such as the stake being raised higher as the novel goes on.
First of all, Lucian Gerrit, main part of Andy Hoare`s Rogue Trader Novels returns to struggle once again, despite this being a White Scars novel and not a Rogue Trader Novel, so this will be a positive for those who were some in the earliest days of Black Library novels. Unfortunately I missed these two books, and am hoping for a reprint.
Sure, there may be very few scenes where someone is not discharge a bolter or in close combat, but Andy Hoare does discover the process very well, even if the new is a bit fast paced.
The new is focussed about the actions of 3 principal characters, putting them each in different settings and making them each get their own objectives. Lucian is starring the Imperial Guard, Sarik, the White Scars character and presumably the Astartes on the cover, is the second, and the 3rd is Lucian`s daughter Brielle. Unfortunately, even though there is character development in this novel, there is really little seen, but nonetheless, the big action kind of makes up for it.
Now, you don`t actually get to clean up the Rogue Trader novels from a minute hand bookstore or eBay to see what`s happening in this novel, as Andy Hoare explains it all at the beginning, which sets up the setting for this novel.
And, on that bombshell, I give you with:
Rating: 7/10
Should you buy this book? Yes. For an action packed novel that never slows down for long, this is one to get for sure.
