savagegardenSavage Garden was a pop duo Australian who won international acclaim after many years. The set was formed by Darren Hayes (vocals) and Daniel Jones (piano, synthesizer, guitar).

In 1993 , the multi-instrumentalist and producer Daniel Jones placed an ad in the local newspaper "Time Off" in Brisbane, Australia looking for a singer for his five-piece band Red Edge.

" Darren Hayes, who had previously been a kindergarten teacher, responded and was directly invited to be office of the project. In June 1994, Darren and Daniel left Red Edge to pursue a career together. The new duo was named as "Savage Garden" - a figure taken from The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice "The idea of Each man is a Wild Garden _" (The idea of every man is a wild garden) of which Darren is a fan .

At year`s end, the couple had penned enough songs for a demo, they sent to various recording companies worldwide. In 1995 they entered the studio to bring on their debut album.

In July 1996 , under Roadshow Music, the duo released their debut single "I Wish You." The one was a huge success in Australia and became the highest-selling one of the year. This generated much interest from many companies in the U.S. and in September, Columbia Records won the fight to mark the band. In November, a second single, "To The Moonshine And Hind" was released and again was a huge success, reaching # 1 in January of following year.

savage garden"I Wish You" was released in the United States in February 1997 , which reached # 4 and quickly achieved gold. "Truly, Madly, Deeply", the third one from the band Australian was released in Marching and quickly rose to # 1 before "I Desire You" was released across Europe in April while at the same time the duo`s debut album "Savage Garden" debuted at # 1 in Australia and reached its height by 17 weeks, two weeks later it was released about the world. In late May, "To The Moonshine And Second" was the song most played on U.S. radio . In June, a fourth single, "Break Me, Shake Me" was released in Australia as the debut album of the band sat at # 3 on the U.S. charts and was certified Gold by the RIAA. By the end of August the album was 7 times platinum in Australia, three times in Canada and two times in New Zealand and Singapore. By the end of August, Savage Garden was nominated for an ARIA award for a record 13 which won the 10 September. A fifth single, "Universe" was released at the same time. In November, "Truly, Madly, Deeply" was released in the United States and bashing Elton John with his song Candle in the Wind 1997, which previously ranked for 14 consecutive weeks at # 1. By the end of 1997, Darren and Daniel became international stars. As in 2005, the introduction of the ring has been awarded 12 times platinum album in Australia, six times in the United States and two times in the UK.

Separation

In Oct 2001, Savage Garden officially proclaimed an end and the duo were in unlike ways. Darren began play on his 1st solo album, Insatiable first one was released in 2002 and the album, Spin was released the same year.

Darren`s first solo album "Spin" was released in March 2002, his 2nd solo album `The Stress And The Spark, was released in 2004 with the low single Popular becoming a dance hit.

In Sep 2005 the declaration was made on the greatest hits package a limited edition, Truly Madly Completely: The Better Of Savage Garden was released on November 7, the collection contained the hits of the two studio albums, a digest of B sides and two new songs from Darren Hayes.

Although the two were together for a little time, Darren and Daniel sold over 23 million albums around the public through the Savage Garden as one of the most successful musical duos in the history of pop music.

In 2007 he was released third solo album Hayes "This Delicate Thing We`ve Made" This double album have fallen off three singles "On the Brink of Something Wonderful", "Me, Myself and (I)" and "Casey .
